The Chilean has experienced a tough start to his career with Bayer 04 since his joining the club in the summer of 2015. Charles suffered a tear to his Achilles heel at the beginning of the season and could only play again toward the end of the season. Since then, the unforgiving tackler earned his spot in the starting eleven. Charles also plays for the national team in Chile. The 27-year-old won the 2015 and 2016 Copa América with “La Roja”.
